The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line has received a significant price cut of Rs. 3 lakh, just three months after its launch, suggesting the premium SUV might be struggling with sales.

Another factor contributing to its initial high price was its import status as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), making it more expensive than many locally assembled rivals.

Interestingly, the Tiguan R-Line’s hot hatch sibling, the Golf GTI, has seen a different fate. Despite being priced higher at Rs. 53 lakh (ex-showroom), the first batch of the Golf GTI was completely sold out, showcasing a strong demand for performance-oriented Volkswagen vehicles.

With the new Rs. 3 lakh discount, the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line now presents a more compelling value proposition in the premium SUV segment.
