Suniel Shetty recently opened up about the challenges his son, Ahan Shetty, faced after signing the highly anticipated film, Border 2, suggesting that Ahan was targeted due to some individuals in Bollywood being upset with Suniel himself.

Allegations of Targeting Ahan Shetty

Suniel Shetty had previously stated that his son, Ahan Shetty, was subjected to a negative campaign. He claimed Ahan was removed from various film projects and faced blame after committing to a significant role in Border 2.

This film is a sequel to the iconic 1997 movie, which famously starred Suniel himself. Suniel recounted that “opportunities slipped out of his hands due to egos,” and that “paid articles” and “rumours” were spread against Ahan.

Suniel’s Theory: “They Are Angry With Me”

In a recent interaction, Suniel was directly asked why Ahan would face such issues despite his father’s standing in the industry. Suniel speculated that others might be taking out their anger on Ahan.

“Maybe I had done a mistake, and they are angry with me, and they want to take it out on somebody else,” he explained. He also added a philosophical note, saying, “You can’t change destiny.”

Border 2: A Blessing in Disguise?

Despite the initial setbacks, Suniel sees the Border 2 project as having an unexpected positive impact on Ahan’s career. He noted that the film has brought Ahan “so much appreciation.”

Crucially, Border 2 has also forged new industry bonds for Ahan. Suniel proudly mentioned that actors like Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh now consider Ahan a “younger brother,” a valuable connection in Bollywood.

Emphasizing Hard Work and Perseverance

Suniel Shetty strongly believes in the power of hard work, stating that “there are no shortcuts” to success in the film industry. He highlighted Ahan’s debut film’s performance, which managed to do well even during the pandemic.

Looking ahead, Suniel expressed his hopes for Border 2 to be a blockbuster success, potentially crossing Rs 500 crore. He also wished for Ahan’s performance to be widely appreciated alongside those of Sunny Deol, Varun, and Diljit.

A Turning Point for New Talent?

Suniel also praised the recent success of debutant Ahaan Panday’s film, Saiyaara, calling its achievement “unbelievable.” He views such successes as a testament to hard work and a potential game-changer for the industry.

He suggested that these fresh successes might encourage producers to think differently. This could lead to more opportunities for a new generation of young actors in Bollywood.

  • Suniel Shetty believes his son Ahan was targeted by some in Bollywood after signing Border 2.
  • He suggests this targeting might be due to anger directed at him personally.
  • Despite the initial professional hurdles, Border 2 has helped Ahan gain new industry friendships and appreciation.
  • Suniel emphasizes the critical role of hard work for aspiring actors in the entertainment industry.
  • He sees the success of recent newcomers as a potential catalyst for more opportunities for young talent in Bollywood.

Suniel Shetty’s candid insights offer a rare glimpse into the complex inner workings of the film industry, while also highlighting the importance of resilience and talent for those pursuing their dreams.
