Allegations of Rs 23 Lakh Fraud
Following the incident, Ruchi Gujjar lodged a formal police complaint against Karan Singh. She alleges that Singh cheated her out of Rs 23 lakh.
According to her complaint, Singh took the money under the pretense of launching a movie project for a television channel. He allegedly promised her a share in the profits and on-screen credit, but the project never materialized.
Police Investigation Underway
Mumbai police have confirmed that an FIR has been registered against Karan Singh at the Oshiwara police station. The case falls under sections 318(4), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for cheating.
Gujjar claims that despite repeated attempts, Singh failed to return her money. She also alleges that the funds she provided were instead invested in the production of “So Long Valley.”
Producer Calls it a “Publicity Stunt”
Meanwhile, Man Singh, the co-producer and director of “So Long Valley,” has strongly denied Gujjar’s claims. He stated that Ruchi Gujjar’s actions are nothing more than a “publicity stunt.”
Man Singh also mentioned that Gujjar had previously tried to halt the film’s release, but the court allowed it to proceed as scheduled. He challenged her to provide evidence for any money paid to Karan Singh for their movie.
Supporting Evidence Provided
Ruchi Gujjar’s complaint asserts that she transferred several amounts totaling Rs 24 lakh from her company, SR Event and Entertainment, to accounts linked to Karan Singh’s K Studios. She claims the project was delayed with false promises.
Upon learning of “So Long Valley’s” release, Gujjar reportedly demanded her money back. She alleges that Singh then began threatening her. As part of her evidence, she has submitted call logs and details of the financial transactions.
