Skoda India has achieved a remarkable manufacturing feat, producing over 500,000 cars from its production facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

A Half-Million Milestone

The Czech automaker recently celebrated a significant manufacturing milestone in India, rolling out its 500,000th car. This impressive number includes popular models like the Octavia, Laura, Superb, Kodiaq, and the compact Kushaq, all of which have resonated well with Indian customers.

Production is primarily concentrated at the Pune facility, which accounts for about 70 percent of these vehicles. The remaining 30 percent were manufactured at the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plant.

From India to the World

Skoda’s Indian facilities are not just for domestic sales; they are also crucial export hubs. Notably, CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits of the Kushaq and Slavia models are now being assembled in Skoda’s newly opened facility in Vietnam.

This global outreach aligns perfectly with the Indian government’s “Make-in-India” initiative. Skoda aims to position India as a key player in the global automotive manufacturing landscape.

Driving Future Growth in India

Looking ahead, Skoda has ambitious plans for further expansion within India. The company is actively charting out strategies to increase its presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, making its vehicles accessible to a wider audience.

These efforts are already showing positive results. In March 2025, Skoda recorded its best-ever sales figures, delivering an impressive 7,422 units.

Building Connections, Not Just Cars

Piyush Arora, CEO and MD of Skoda Volkswagen India, emphasized the deeper meaning behind this achievement. He stated that it’s not merely about manufacturing vehicles but about “building and nurturing 500,000 connections” with customers.

He highlighted that every car produced embodies European engineering excellence, delivering unmatched quality, comfort, safety, and driving dynamics. Arora also noted that this milestone is particularly special as Skoda Auto celebrates 130 years globally and 25 years of its presence in India this year.

  • Skoda India has produced 500,000 cars across its Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar facilities.
  • Indian-made CKD kits for models like Kushaq and Slavia are now assembled in Vietnam.
  • The achievement coincides with Skoda’s 130th global anniversary and 25 years in India.
  • Skoda aims to expand its reach in India and strengthen its role as a global manufacturing hub.

This milestone firmly establishes Skoda’s commitment to the Indian market and its growing influence in the global automotive sector.
