Malayalam actors Shine Tom Chacko and Vincy Aloshious have publicly reconciled after Vincy’s earlier accusations of misbehavior related to drug influence during the filming of their movie, ‘Soothravakyam’.
Public Apology During Promotions
During a recent promotional event for their film ‘Soothravakyam’ in Puthukad, Shine Tom Chacko issued a public apology to his co-star, Vincy Aloshious. The reconciliation comes months after Vincy had accused him of inappropriate behavior on set.
When media questioned if any issues persisted between them, Shine hinted that all was well, asking, “Do you see any problems between us by looking at us?” Vincy also confirmed that there was no ongoing feud.
Vincy expressed her long-standing admiration for Shine and his career, revealing she had sought his advice before becoming an actress. However, she admitted her shock at seeing him under the influence of drugs during filming. This prompted Shine to offer his apology directly: “I did not expect it. If you were hurt, then I am sorry.”
The Initial Allegations
The dispute between the two actors first surfaced in April. Vincy had accused Shine of inappropriate conduct on the sets of ‘Soothravakyam’. She formally lodged complaints with both the Kerala Film Chamber and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) regarding the alleged misconduct, though she did not involve the police.
Shine’s Legal Troubles
Days after Vincy’s complaint came to light, Shine Tom Chacko faced legal action. He was arrested under sections 27 (consumption) and 29 (conspiracy for drug abuse) of the NDPS Act. This followed an incident where he reportedly evaded authorities during a police raid at a Kochi hotel.
Police reports indicated that his digital payment records and chats helped establish a preliminary link between him and drug peddlers. This marked his second drug-related case; he had previously been acquitted in a 2015 cocaine case earlier this year.
A Personal Tragedy
Adding to his challenges, Shine Tom Chacko is also navigating a profound personal loss. Last month, his father tragically passed away in a car accident. The accident occurred while Shine was traveling with his family from Ernakulam to Bengaluru, where he was scheduled for a de-addiction program.
