Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s film “Saiyaara” continues its impressive run at the box office, surpassing major blockbusters and achieving a global collection of Rs 425 crore within just 14 days.
Saiyaara’s Staggering Success Story
“Saiyaara” has surprised many Bollywood trade pundits with its remarkable performance. After two weeks in theaters, the film has amassed a domestic total of Rs 280.5 crore, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.
This places “Saiyaara” as the second-highest Hindi grosser of 2025 so far. It trails only Vicky Kaushal’s “Chhaava,” which brought in around Rs 600 crore. Ajay Devgn’s “Raid 2” holds the third spot with Rs 173 crore.
Box Office Numbers and Daily Performance
On its 14th day, “Saiyaara” earned Rs 6.5 crore, marking its slowest day at the box office. Despite this, its overall global collection now stands at an impressive Rs 425 crore.
While weekday footfalls have seen a dip, the film maintained an 11 percent overall occupancy on Thursday. In the Delhi-NCR region, “Saiyaara” had over 1100 shows with approximately 12 percent occupancy. Mumbai also showed strong numbers with over 750 shows and more than 10.5 percent occupancy.
Surpassing Major Bollywood Hits
“Saiyaara” has now officially surpassed Shahid Kapoor’s career-best hit, “Kabir Singh.” The 2019 film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, earned Rs 279 crore during its theatrical run.
The Ahaan Panday starrer has also overtaken Salman Khan’s 2023 release, “Tiger 3.” “Tiger 3” notably had a Sunday release, a strategy that did not yield the desired results for the filmmakers.
Upcoming Challenges and Competitors
As “Saiyaara” enters its third weekend, it faces new competition. Two new films, “Dhadak 2” and “Son of Sardaar 2,” are set to hit theaters.
“Dhadak 2,” produced by Dharma Productions, stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, and is expected to be a tragic love story. “Son of Sardaar 2,” an Ajay Devgn-starrer and a sequel to his 2012 comedy, was originally slated for a July 25 release. However, its makers opted to postpone it to avoid direct competition with the “Saiyaara” wave, highlighting the latter’s immense impact.
