Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation into Lord Rama for Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film *Ramayana* has left his co-star, Indira Krishnan, thoroughly impressed, who likens his adaptability to “atta” that always turns into a perfect “phulka.”
Stepping into Lord Rama’s Shoes
Indira Krishnan, who plays Kaushalya, Lord Rama’s mother, in the film, recently shared insights into Ranbir’s dedication. She observed a significant shift in his demeanor compared to their previous project, *Animal*.
According to Krishnan, Ranbir fully embraced the character of Lord Rama, not just physically but also mentally. He remained in character throughout the shoot, even when interacting with the crew.
A Dramatic Transformation
Ranbir reportedly underwent intense physical training, working out for three to four hours daily. His commitment extended beyond filming, as he would continue his workouts even after pack-up.
Indira vividly recalled a scene involving a sandalwood ceremony where Ranbir’s upper body was bare. She noted how he sat and positioned himself exactly as one would imagine Lord Rama, showcasing incredible comfort and authenticity.
From ‘Animal’ to Divinity
The contrast between Ranbir’s role in *Animal* and his portrayal of Lord Rama is striking. In *Animal*, he exuded a raw, intense energy, often keeping to himself on set to maintain his character’s solitude.
However, for *Ramayana*, he channeled a divine presence. Indira Krishnan, having witnessed both performances, lauded his ability to switch between such vastly different roles with seamless precision.
She praised his intensity and professionalism, stating, “He is like atta, you can mould him in whichever way and he will come out like a phulka.”
Beyond the Star Persona
Despite his celebrity status and family lineage, Ranbir Kapoor maintains a humble and grounded approach on set. Indira noted that he doesn’t carry the “baggage” of being a star but naturally possesses an aura.
His punctuality and 200 percent dedication were also highlighted. This consistent professionalism, combined with his immense talent, truly sets him apart in the industry.
