The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has been relaunched with a host of upgrades, boasting more power and advanced features, all while keeping its price surprisingly competitive.

More Power, Better Handling

Bajaj has given the Pulsar NS400Z a significant performance boost. The 373cc engine now churns out 43hp at 9,500rpm, a healthy 3hp increase from its predecessor. The redline has also been extended to 10,700rpm, allowing for higher revs and a more exhilarating ride.

Beyond power, handling has seen key improvements. The older bias-ply tyres have been replaced with high-performance Apollo Alpha H1 radials, featuring a wider 150/60-ZR17 rear tyre. This change, along with new sintered front brake pads, promises enhanced grip and stopping power.

Advanced Features for a Sharper Ride

The updated NS400Z introduces a bidirectional quickshifter, a first for a Bajaj-branded motorcycle, allowing for seamless gear changes up and down without using the clutch. This feature significantly enhances the riding experience, especially for spirited riding.

Riding modes also see a refinement, particularly the Sport mode. It now offers a sharper throttle response, catering to riders looking for maximum engagement. The Road, Off-road, and Rain modes continue to provide tailored responses for different conditions.

The Price Remains Right

Despite these considerable upgrades, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is priced at Rs 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), an increase of just Rs 7,000 from its initial launch. This minimal price hike further cements its reputation as a value-for-money powerhouse in its segment.

Key specifications like the 174kg weight (with a full 12-litre fuel tank), accessible 805mm seat height, and a respectable 165mm ground clearance remain unchanged, ensuring it stays practical for everyday use. The bike is available in the same four colours – white, red, grey, and black – now featuring updated graphics.

  • Engine power increased to 43hp, up by 3hp.
  • Equipped with new Apollo Alpha H1 radial tyres and sintered front brake pads.
  • Features a segment-first bidirectional quickshifter.
  • Price increased by only Rs 7,000 despite significant upgrades.

These revisions are set to make the Pulsar NS400Z an even more compelling option for performance enthusiasts, and we look forward to confirming its enhanced capabilities in an upcoming review.
