Malayalam actress Anusree recently shared the emotional struggles she and her family faced due to public criticism when she first entered the film industry.

An Unconventional Entry into Cinema

Anusree’s journey into the film world was unique. With no prior connections, she caught the eye of renowned filmmaker Lal Jose while competing in an acting reality show.

This led to her big debut in his 2012 film, “Diamond Necklace,” starring alongside Fahadh Faasil. Since then, she has made a name for herself with several memorable roles in Malayalam cinema.

The Weight of Early Criticism

Despite her success, Anusree revealed that her initial steps in the industry were met with a harsh reception, particularly in her hometown. She recalled feeling pain from the gossip and backbiting, even from people she considered friends.

“When I first entered the film industry, people weren’t as encouraging to a girl trying to make her mark as they are today,” she shared during a chat with Ginger Media Entertainments. She admitted feeling isolated, unsure how to explain the situation to her friends, some of whom might have been her critics.

During these tough times, filmmaker Lal Jose offered crucial support and guidance, helping her navigate the complexities of her newfound fame.

A Father’s Silent Burden

The unfair remarks and negativity eventually reached Anusree’s parents, causing them immense distress. Her father, in particular, tried to shield her from the harsh realities.

He would confide in her mother about the comments, rather than directly burdening Anusree. Hearing about the cruelty of the gossip, Anusree even suggested they move house to escape the negativity, but her father was reluctant to leave their hometown.

The Public Breakdown

Anusree recounted a poignant moment that highlighted the depth of her father’s silent suffering. During an interview shoot, her father broke down in public, unable to hold back his emotions any longer.

“That’s when I realised how much he had been silently bearing,” she said. Today, however, she proudly states that he is immensely proud of her achievements.

Looking Ahead in Life and Career

Anusree’s most recent film appearances include “Thalavan” and “Kadha Innuvare.” She continues to prioritize her passion for acting.

The 34-year-old actress also spoke about her hopes for a life partner. She seeks someone who will fully support her career and not place restrictions on her acting journey.

Having lived in her hometown for 34 years, she expressed a desire for a partner willing to join her in her current home, rather than her moving elsewhere to start a new household. “I’ll tell them straight, ‘You don’t need to set up a separate home-just come and live in mine,’” she shared, indicating her strong bond with her family home.

  • Anusree faced significant public criticism and gossip early in her film career.
  • Her father silently bore the brunt of this negativity, eventually breaking down publicly.
  • Filmmaker Lal Jose provided crucial support during her difficult initial days.
  • Anusree is now keen on finding a life partner who will support her acting career and be willing to live in her family home.
