The Grand Return: Vizag Kicks Off Season 12

The highly anticipated Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is making a grand return for its 12th season, starting on August 29. Twelve teams will battle it out for ultimate glory across multiple cities, promising an action-packed tournament for fans.

The opening weekend is set to ignite in Vizag, specifically at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium. It’s a special homecoming for the coastal city, which last hosted PKL matches seven years ago in 2018, and also featured in Seasons 1 and 3.

The first day, Friday, August 29, features a blockbuster doubleheader. Telugu Titans will face off against Tamil Thalaivas, followed by Bengaluru Bulls taking on Puneri Paltan in the second clash of the day.

The excitement continues into Saturday, August 30. Home team Telugu Titans will once again be on the mat, this time clashing with UP Yoddhas. Later, U Mumba is scheduled to play against the Gujarat Giants.

Super Sunday promises more high-octane action. Tamil Thalaivas will battle U Mumba, while reigning champions Haryana Steelers begin their title defense against Bengal Warriorz, closing out an exciting first three days of kabaddi.

JioStar PKL expert Rishank Devadiga perfectly sums up the league’s intensity: “In PKL, the thrill begins from the first match. Every team treats the opener like a final.”

Journey Across India: Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi

After the Vizag leg, the Pro Kabaddi League caravan moves to Jaipur. The Indoor Hall at SMS Stadium will host the second leg, starting Friday, September 12. Fans can look forward to exciting matches, including two-time champions Jaipur Pink Panthers against Bengaluru Bulls, followed by Tamil Thalaivas facing Bengal Warriorz.

The third leg of the season will then commence in Chennai at the SDAT Multipurpose Indoor Stadium on September 29. Key matchups here include UP Yoddhas against Gujarat Giants. A highlight will be Dabang Delhi K.C. clashing with Haryana Steelers, a match that sees star player Naveen Kumar go up against his former team.

The Grand Finale of the League Stage in Delhi

The league stage will reach its peak in Delhi, at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, starting October 13. This crucial leg will feature high-stakes encounters like Patna Pirates battling Haryana Steelers and U Mumba facing off against UP Yoddhas.

Adding to the fan experience, the final rounds of the league will culminate with triple headers. This ensures non-stop kabaddi action as teams vie for a spot in the playoffs, the schedule for which will be revealed at a later date.
