Pawan Kalyan’s ambitious period film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, has faced a significant setback at the box office, particularly on its crucial first Monday.

Monday Misery: A Drastic Drop

After a somewhat decent opening weekend, Hari Hara Veera Mallu experienced a massive slump on its fifth day, which was a Monday. The film recorded a shocking 78.11% drop in earnings compared to Sunday’s collection.

According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie managed to collect a mere Rs 2.32 crore nett across India on Monday. This poor performance has brought its total domestic nett collection to Rs 77.57 crore so far.

Box Office Journey: High Hopes to Low Returns

The film kicked off with paid premieres on Wednesday, bringing in Rs 12.75 crore. Its official opening on Thursday saw a collection of Rs 34.75 crore in the domestic market, raising initial hopes.

However, the momentum quickly faded. Friday saw earnings dip to just Rs 8 crore. While collections improved slightly over the weekend, with Rs 9.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.6 crore on Sunday, it wasn’t enough to sustain strong numbers into the new week.

Globally, Hari Hara Veera Mallu has grossed Rs 102.7 crore. Despite crossing the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, the film still has a long way to go to recover its substantial budget.

A Mountain to Climb: The Budget Challenge

Reportedly mounted on a massive budget of Rs 300 crore, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is facing an uphill battle to break even. The current collections indicate it’s far from covering its production costs, especially given the rapid decline in daily earnings.

The overall occupancy in the Telugu market on Monday was only 15.68%, with slight improvements from morning to night shows. Other language versions in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam contributed negligibly to the box office figures.

The Incoming Storm: ‘Kingdom’ Release

Adding to the challenges, Vijay Deverakonda’s highly anticipated spy actioner, Kingdom, is set to hit theatres in just two days. This new release is expected to further impact Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s already struggling box office run, potentially overshadowing it completely.

The Team Behind the Epic

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and AM Jyothi Krishna, Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 features a prominent cast including Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Sathyaraj alongside Pawan Kalyan. The film’s music was composed by the acclaimed MM Keeravani, with cinematography by Gnana Shekar VS and Manoj Paramahamsa, and editing by Praveen KL.

  • Hari Hara Veera Mallu saw a drastic 78.11% drop in collections on Monday.
  • It earned just Rs 2.32 crore nett on Day 5, bringing its total India nett to Rs 77.57 crore.
  • Despite crossing Rs 100 crore globally, the film’s Rs 300 crore budget makes breaking even a significant challenge.
  • The upcoming release of Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Kingdom’ is expected to further impact its box office performance.

With critical reviews already harsh, the film’s path to success looks increasingly difficult amidst tough competition and declining audience interest.
