Pawan Kalyan’s latest film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1, has garnered over Rs 75 crore domestically within four days, despite receiving mixed reviews.
A Strong Start for Pawan Kalyan’s Comeback
Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan made his much-anticipated return to the big screen after a two-year break with “Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1.” The film kicked off its box office run with promising numbers.
On its opening day, the movie collected an impressive Rs 34.75 crore. The vast majority of this collection, Rs 34.65 crore, came from its core Telugu-speaking regions, highlighting the star’s strong regional fan base.
Collections from other language versions were minimal, with Hindi and Kannada versions each contributing just Rs 1 lakh. The Tamil and Malayalam versions saw slightly more, earning Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively on day one.
Weekend Fluctuations and Recovery
Following its robust opening, the film experienced a notable dip. Collections plummeted by 76% on its first Friday, bringing in only Rs 8 crore.
However, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” managed to regain some momentum over the weekend. It saw a slight uptick on Saturday, collecting Rs 9.15 crore, and continued to improve on Sunday, reaching Rs 11 crore.
On Sunday, the Pawan Kalyan-starrer recorded an overall occupancy of 36.14% in the Telugu market. Afternoon and evening shows reported the highest footfall, indicating a weekend boost in viewership.
Climbing the Box Office Ranks
Despite the fluctuating daily figures, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” has shown resilience. It has already surpassed the four-day domestic total of Pawan Kalyan’s previous film, “Bro,” which collected Rs 67.85 crore.
Currently, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” stands at Rs 75.65 crore domestically, placing it among the top-grossing Telugu films of the year. It has notably overtaken the total domestic collection of Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya’s “Thandel,” which stood at Rs 65.49 crore.
The film is now also closing in on Nani’s “HIT: The Third Case.” With its current figures, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” is just about Rs 5 crore shy of “HIT”‘s domestic total of Rs 80.75 crore, setting the stage for a potential surpass in the coming days.
