Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” is facing significant backlash from a Bahujan community, who allege the movie distorts the legacy of a revered Telangana folk hero.

New Controversy for “Hari Hara Veera Mallu”

Just weeks before its scheduled release, Pawan Kalyan’s highly anticipated film, “Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1,” has landed in hot water. The movie, which has seen multiple delays, is now being criticized for its portrayal of a key historical figure.

The controversy erupted after the film’s trailer was released, sparking concerns among members of the Bahujan community. They claim the movie’s central character, Veera Mallu, played by Pawan Kalyan, closely mirrors their folk hero, Panduga Sayanna.

Who is Panduga Sayanna?

Panduga Sayanna is a significant figure for the Mudiraj community and others in Telangana. He is remembered as a champion of the poor who bravely fought against oppressive feudal systems during the Nizam era in the 19th century.

Sayanna’s battles were primarily against the powerful Deshmukhs, Patels, and Zamindars who exploited the common people. His legacy is one of resistance and standing up for justice.

Community Alleges Distortion of Legacy

Representatives from the Mudiraj community have publicly voiced their anger, accusing Mega Surya Production, the studio behind the film, of distorting historical facts. They believe the film’s narrative incorporates unrelated elements, seemingly for commercial gain, which tarnishes Sayanna’s image.

Speaking in Hyderabad, community members urged other Bahujan groups to join their protest. They have also issued a stern warning: if their concerns are not addressed, they may take measures to prevent the film’s release.

Silence from Film’s Makers and Star

As of now, there has been no official response from the filmmakers. Neither producer A Dayakar Rao nor directors Krish Jagarlamudi and AM Jyothi Krishna have commented on the allegations.

Pawan Kalyan, who is not only the film’s lead actor but also the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and president of the Jana Sena Party (JSP), has also remained silent on the controversy.

The Road to Release

“Hari Hara Veera Mallu” has faced numerous production hurdles and delays since 2022, often attributed to Pawan Kalyan’s demanding political schedule. After being postponed multiple times, the film is now set for a July 24 release.

The movie boasts a strong cast, including Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Sathyaraj. Its music is composed by Oscar-winning MM Keeravaani, with cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and Gnana Shekar VS, editing by KL Praveen, and production design by Thota Tharrani.

  • Pawan Kalyan’s “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” faces backlash for allegedly misrepresenting folk hero Panduga Sayanna.
  • The Mudiraj community claims the film distorts Sayanna’s legacy for commercial purposes.
  • Protestors threaten to obstruct the film’s release if their concerns are not addressed.
  • Neither the filmmakers nor Pawan Kalyan have commented on the controversy so far.

This escalating dispute adds another layer of complexity to the much-anticipated release of “Hari Hara Veera Mallu,” leaving many to wonder how the makers will address these serious allegations.
