Volvo Car India has officially launched the updated 2025 XC60 SUV facelift, now priced at Rs 71.90 lakh (introductory ex-showroom).

Volvo XC60: What’s New?

This marks the second facelift for the current-generation XC60, arriving about three years after its previous update and just five months after its global debut. While the core mechanics remain unchanged, Volvo has introduced significant cosmetic tweaks and feature upgrades.

These enhancements position the XC60 even more competitively against rivals like the Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, and Audi Q5. The updates mean a price increase of Rs 1.15 lakh over the outgoing model.

Subtle Yet Stylish Exterior Changes

The 2025 XC60 retains its familiar silhouette, but the exterior now sports refined details. You’ll notice a fresh diagonal-slat grille and redesigned alloy wheels that give it a contemporary edge. The tail-light design remains, but they now feature a smoked-out finish, bringing the XC60’s look closer to Volvo’s flagship XC90.

For colour choices, Volvo has added two new options: Forest Lake and Mulberry Red. These join existing popular shades like Crystal White, Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Bright Dusk, and Vapour Grey. The Platinum Grey option has been discontinued.

A Tech-Forward and Luxurious Interior

Step inside, and the XC60’s biggest upgrade is instantly apparent: a new, freestanding 11.2-inch touchscreen. This display isn’t just bigger; it boasts improved image quality and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, making it twice as fast as before.

Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the premium 1410W Bowers & Wilkins sound system, featuring 15 speakers for an immersive experience. Other premium interior touches include a 12.3-inch driver’s display, elegant wood inlays on the dashboard, massaging front seats, and plush Nappa leather upholstery, elevating the cabin’s luxury quotient.

Enhanced Safety with Smart Safety Network

Safety remains a cornerstone for Volvo, and the updated XC60 is no exception. It features the “Volvo Smart Safety Network,” an advanced suite of driver assistance systems (ADAS). This includes vital features such as cross-traffic alert with autobrake, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane and pilot assists.

Standard safety equipment also includes multiple airbags and ABS with EBD, ensuring comprehensive protection for all occupants.

Under the Hood: Familiar Performance

True to a facelift model, the 2025 XC60 retains its proven powertrain. It continues to be powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This setup delivers a robust 250hp and 360Nm of peak torque, distributed to all four wheels.

The engine is also supported by a 48V mild-hybrid battery. This system provides additional support, contributing to improved fuel efficiency and smoother acceleration.

  • The 2025 Volvo XC60 facelift is priced at Rs 71.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • It features a larger, faster 11.2-inch touchscreen and advanced ADAS.
  • The XC60 is locally assembled in Bengaluru and is Volvo’s global best-seller.
  • It retains its powerful 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech.

The Volvo XC60 remains a crucial model for the brand, both globally and in India, where it’s locally assembled at Volvo’s Bengaluru plant. This update ensures it stays competitive in the premium mid-size SUV segment, offering a blend of luxury, technology, and renowned Volvo safety.
