Kinetic Green has launched the new Kinetic DX electric scooter, bringing back the iconic DX nameplate with a modern electric twist for the Indian market.
A Blast From The Past, Reimagined
Remember the Kinetic Honda DX? Kinetic Green is tapping into that nostalgia with its new electric scooter, the Kinetic DX. This isn’t just a simple electric vehicle; it’s a modern tribute to the beloved two-wheeler that graced Indian roads decades ago.
The new DX keeps the familiar boxy shape but updates it with cool features. You’ll find full-LED lighting, sturdy 12-inch wheels, and even metal body panels for a premium feel. The 8.8-inch color LCD display cleverly mimics the original’s instrument cluster, and a red ‘READY’ starter button offers a direct nod to its predecessor.
Performance and Range You Can Count On
Powering the Kinetic DX is a hub-mounted motor with a peak output of 4.8kW. It’s fueled by a 2.6kWh LFP battery, smartly placed in the floorboard for better balance.
The DX variant offers a claimed top speed of 80kph and a range of 102km. If you opt for the DX+, you get a higher top speed of 90kph and an impressive claimed range of 116km. Kinetic also suggests that with cruise lock set between 25-30kph on flat roads, you could even achieve up to 150km in real-world conditions.
Charging is convenient with the integrated charger and 15A plug, which can be found in the glovebox. You can get from 0 to 50 percent in just 2 hours, 0 to 80 percent in 3 hours, and a full charge takes about 4 hours.
Packed With Smart Features
The Kinetic DX and DX+ come loaded with features for a smooth ride. You can choose from three riding modes: Range, Power, and Turbo. Plus, there’s hill-hold control, cruise control, and a unique cruise lock function that holds your speed below 30kph for better efficiency.
Beyond performance, convenience is key. The scooter offers keyless ignition, a password-based ‘Easy Key’ system, and even a dedicated helpline call button on the switchgear. It boasts a spacious 37 litres of underseat storage, a hidden under-boot compartment, and a USB charging port under the seat.
Modern tech includes Bluetooth connectivity, app-based controls for ignition and vehicle location, geofencing, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. And for a truly unique touch, the scooter can even wish you a happy birthday in 16 different languages!
Price, Availability, and Competition
The Kinetic DX is positioned to compete with popular electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V1, and Ather Rizta. The DX is priced at Rs 1.12 lakh, while the DX+ comes in at Rs 1.18 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Pune).
You can book your new Kinetic DX or DX+ directly on their website. Kinetic Green is also rolling out these scooters through its new Watts & Volts EV showrooms and its existing dealer network. The scooter comes with a 3-year, 30,000km warranty, which can be extended to an impressive 9 years and 1 lakh kilometres.
