Angad Bedi recently shared how it took him a surprising seven years to fully accept his wife Neha Dhupia’s unique habit of setting specific departure times for guests visiting their home.
House Rules and the ‘High Command’
During a recent house tour with Pinkvilla, actors Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia offered a glimpse into their Mumbai residence and their quirky home dynamics.
Angad playfully revealed that he jokes about needing permission to enter his own house, calling Neha the “high command.” He then shared a particularly unique house rule he discovered after their marriage in 2018: Neha’s practice of setting a clear “in time” and “out time” for guests.
Why the ‘Out Time’?
Neha explained her reasoning behind this unconventional rule. She believes it helps guests value time, especially those who tend to arrive significantly later than invited.
Often, she sends a text message to guests, specifying the duration of their visit, for example, “We would love to have you over—from 8 to 11.” This clearly communicates expectations upfront.
She also added that this practice helps manage their household schedule. Sometimes, Angad might continue entertaining, while Neha needs to retire for the night, and communicating an “out time” prevents guests from feeling that one of them is being rude.
Seven Years to Adjust
Neha admitted that while their decision to marry was made in just seven minutes, Angad took as long as seven years to truly come to terms with her guest timing habit.
Angad light-heartedly joked that when the “out time” arrives, he sometimes even steps out of the house along with the departing guests.
Their Unconventional Love Story
The couple’s path to marriage was unique; Neha previously revealed they never officially dated. They were long-time friends who saw each other through various relationships.
After their parents met in New Delhi, a wedding date was swiftly set. Neha famously had to arrange her wedding outfit, including her iconic pink lehenga, at the very last minute, even renting it for her special day.
Family Life
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi tied the knot in 2018. They are proud parents to two children.
Their daughter, Mehr, was born in the same year as their wedding. In 2021, they welcomed their son, Guriq.
