MG has announced a price revision for its popular SUV, the Astor, with some variants now costing up to Rs. 19,000 more.

Understanding the Latest Price Adjustments

Car buyers looking at the MG Astor should be aware of new prices, as the automaker has implemented an increase across most of its variants. This move follows similar price adjustments for other MG models earlier this month, including the Comet EV and Windsor EV.

The hike affects select trims of the Astor, which is MG’s contender in the competitive compact SUV segment. While most variants see a rise, the top-of-the-line Savvy Pro 1.3 Turbo AT remains unaffected by these changes, maintaining its previous pricing.

Variant-Specific Price Increases

Manual Transmission Variants See Changes

For those opting for manual transmission, the entry-level Sprint 1.5 MT and the Select 1.5 MT variants are now Rs. 18,000 more expensive. The Shine 1.5 MT variant experiences the highest individual increase, going up by Rs. 19,000. Meanwhile, the Sharp Pro 1.5 MT variant sees a more modest rise of Rs. 13,000.

Automatic Transmission Variants Also Affected

Automatic transmission options haven’t been spared either. The Select 1.5 CVT, Sharp Pro 1.5 CVT, and the Sharp Pro 1.5 CVT dual-tone variants have all uniformly increased by Rs. 15,000. All other variants not specifically mentioned above will now cost an additional Rs. 17,000.

New Pricing and Market Position

With these revisions, the MG Astor’s price range now starts at Rs. 11.48 lakh for the base model and goes up to Rs. 18.55 lakh for the premium variants. These are ex-showroom prices.

The Astor continues to be a strong competitor in its segment, battling it out with popular models like the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara. These price adjustments are a common practice in the automotive industry, often reflecting changes in production costs, supply chain dynamics, or market demand.

  • Most MG Astor variants have seen a price increase of up to Rs. 19,000.
  • The entry-level price for the Astor is now Rs. 11.48 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • The top-spec Savvy Pro 1.3 Turbo AT variant’s price remains unchanged.
  • This follows similar price hikes for other MG models earlier this month.

Potential buyers should check with their local dealerships for the most accurate and up-to-date pricing details before making a purchase decision.
