Mahindra Racing celebrated a stellar close to the 2025 Formula E season, securing back-to-back podium finishes at the London E Prix and clinching an impressive fourth place in the teams’ championship.
Mahindra Racing’s Triumphant London Finale
The 2025 Formula E season concluded on a high note for Mahindra Racing. The Indian team achieved consecutive podium finishes at the London E Prix, cementing their remarkable return to form.
Driver Nyck de Vries was instrumental in this success, earning two second-place finishes in the London finale. His consistent performance throughout the weekend was a major factor in the team’s overall strong result.
De Vries showed his skill by narrowly missing pole position in Race 1, then leading for several laps with an aggressive strategy. He followed this up with another second-place finish in Race 2, skillfully managing energy and making crucial overtakes.
This adds to de Vries’ impressive track record in London, where he has now secured five podiums from eight starts. While teammate Edoardo Mortara had a strong P6 finish in Race 1, an issue forced his retirement from Race 2.
Leaping Up the Championship Standings
Heading into the London E Prix, Mahindra was positioned sixth in the standings, just one point behind McLaren. Their outstanding performance in the final races allowed them to surpass several rivals.
The team ended the 2025 season with a total of 186 points, achieving fourth place in the teams’ championship. This result exceeded their initial goal of a top-five finish, seeing them beat out formidable teams like McLaren, DS Penske, and Maserati.
Frederic Bertrand, CEO and Team Principal of Mahindra Racing, expressed his satisfaction with the weekend’s performance. He highlighted the car’s speed and the team’s strong showing, signaling a promising platform for future growth.
“We are now among the front runners, which gives us a great platform on which to keep building,” Bertrand stated, emphasizing the importance of harnessing this momentum for continued progress.
Jaguar’s Double Victory and Porsche’s Championship Win
While Mahindra celebrated its success, Jaguar also had a dominant end to the season. Nick Cassidy secured victories in both London races, contributing significantly to Jaguar’s second-place finish in the teams’ championship.
Cassidy reflected on his perfect farewell race with Jaguar TCS Racing, noting his comfort and the team’s dominance. Despite his teammate Mitch Evans’ strong Race 2 finish, a five-second penalty dropped him to P5.
The fight for the overall teams’ championship was intense. Although Oliver Rowland had already sealed the drivers’ title at the Berlin E Prix, the teams’ battle went down to the wire.
Porsche ultimately clinched the teams’ championship, accumulating 28 points in London and finishing 29 points clear of Jaguar. Nissan secured third place, 49 points behind the champions.
