Good news for car buyers! Honda Cars India has significantly reduced the price of its popular City e:HEV hybrid model, making it nearly Rs 1 lakh more affordable in the market.

A Greener Drive Just Got Cheaper

The Honda City e:HEV, known for being the sole hybrid option in the midsize sedan segment, is now more accessible than ever. Its fully-loaded ZX variant is now priced at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

This substantial price adjustment positions the City hybrid as a more competitive choice. Coupled with the government’s recent push for hybrid vehicles, this move is expected to give the model’s sales a significant boost.

Powering the Hybrid: Engine and Efficiency

Under the hood, the Honda City hybrid features a fuel-efficient 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that operates on the Atkinson cycle. This is paired with a sophisticated hybrid system.

The system includes a traction motor that powers the wheels using a lithium-ion battery, and a motor-generator that recharges the battery while the combustion engine is running. This intelligent setup delivers a combined output of 126hp and 253Nm of torque to the front wheels via an eCVT.

One of the biggest highlights of the City e:HEV is its impressive fuel efficiency. It boasts an ARAI-rated mileage of 27.26 kilometers per litre, making it an excellent choice for those looking to save on fuel costs.

Feature-Packed and Safe

The Honda City e:HEV doesn’t just offer efficiency; it’s also packed with modern features and robust safety technology. On the exterior, you’ll find all-LED headlights and DRLs, stylish 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a sunroof.

Inside the cabin, convenience is key. The sedan comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, and an 8-speaker sound setup for a premium audio experience.

Safety is a top priority, as evidenced by the City hybrid’s 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating. It includes advanced features like ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), six airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EPB (Electronic Parking Brake), traction control, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. There’s also a handy lane watch camera that displays blind spots from the left ORVM directly onto the infotainment screen.

  • The Honda City e:HEV hybrid now costs Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom), nearly Rs 1 lakh less.
  • It’s the only hybrid option in the midsize sedan segment.
  • Powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine with a hybrid system, producing 126hp and 253Nm.
  • Offers an impressive ARAI-rated mileage of 27.26 kpl.
  • Comes loaded with features including ADAS, 6 airbags, and an 8-inch touchscreen.

This strategic price drop, combined with its strong feature set and exceptional fuel economy, makes the Honda City e:HEV a compelling choice in the Indian automotive market.
