Hero MotoCorp is making a significant global expansion, gearing up to launch its operations in the UK and several European markets by September of this year.

Hero MotoCorp Heads to Europe

India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, is set to enter the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Spain. This strategic move is slated for the second quarter of the financial year 2025-26, which means by September 2025.

This expansion marks a crucial phase in Hero’s international strategy. The company aims for a renewed push into premium and electric mobility segments on the global stage.

Vida VX2: The European Spearhead

The Vida VX2 electric scooter is expected to be the first product to hit European showrooms. This model was previously showcased at EICMA 2023 and has been designed with a global audience in mind.

While the Vida VX2 leads the charge, Hero MotoCorp might also introduce some of its higher-capacity internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles later. Models like the Xtreme 250R, Mavrick 440, and Karizma, which were displayed at previous EICMA shows, could follow.

Groundwork Laid for European Entry

Hero MotoCorp has already put in considerable effort to prepare for this major launch. The company has successfully appointed distribution partners across these key European markets, setting up the necessary network ahead of time.

Adding to its European readiness, Hero also operates a technology centre in Germany. This facility is likely to provide crucial support and insights for its upcoming market foray.

Hero’s Growing Global Footprint

Despite being present in 48 countries, Hero’s export business currently makes up a smaller portion of its overall revenue. In the financial year 2024, exports accounted for just 5.7 percent of its total revenue of Rs 40,756 crore.

However, the company’s export figures are showing robust growth. Hero MotoCorp exported 2.89 lakh two-wheelers last fiscal year, marking a strong 44 percent year-on-year increase. This growth significantly outpaced the industry’s average export growth of 21.4 percent.

  • Hero MotoCorp will launch in the UK, Germany, France, and Spain by September 2025.
  • The Vida VX2 electric scooter is anticipated to be the first product introduced.
  • This expansion is a significant step in Hero’s global strategy, focusing on electric and premium segments.

This strategic move into European markets highlights Hero MotoCorp’s ambition to strengthen its international presence and tap into new growth opportunities in the evolving mobility landscape.
