Legendary Telugu lyricist and father of acclaimed composer MM Keeravani, Siva Shakthi Datta, has passed away at the age of 92 in Hyderabad.

Siva Shakthi Datta, a name synonymous with profound lyrics and artistic versatility, left a significant mark on the Telugu film industry. He was a multi-talented personality, known not just for his songwriting but also as a painter, Sanskrit scholar, writer, and storyteller.

Born Koduri Subbarao in Kovvu, Andhra Pradesh, he initially pursued his passion as a painter, adopting the pen name Kamalesh. His artistic journey evolved as he explored music, learning various instruments before embracing the name Siva Shakthi Datta.

His career as a lyricist officially began with the 1988 film *Janaki Ramudu*. Over the years, he penned memorable songs for blockbuster movies. His impressive filmography includes works like *Sye*, *Chatrapathi*, *Rajanna*, and the global sensations *Baahubali: The Beginning*, *Baahubali 2: The Conclusion*, and *RRR*.

Beyond lyrics, Datta also ventured into direction with the 2007 film *Chandrahas*, further showcasing his diverse talents within the industry.
