Enhanced Safety, Unchanged Price
Toyota has significantly boosted the safety features of its popular Glanza hatchback. All four trims – E, S, G, and V – now come equipped with 6 airbags as a standard offering. This is a major upgrade, as previously, the higher-spec Glanza G variant was the only one to feature 6 airbags.
What’s even better news for car buyers is that despite this safety enhancement, the prices for the Toyota Glanza remain unchanged. The hatchback’s price range still starts from Rs 6.9 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.0 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The Glanza is a badge-engineered version of the Maruti Baleno, sharing many core components.
Introducing the Glanza Prestige Edition
Alongside the safety upgrade, Toyota has also rolled out a new “Prestige edition” for the Glanza. This isn’t a new variant but rather a dealer-level accessories package, similar to the recently launched Toyota Hyryder Prestige Package. It allows owners to add a touch of premium style to their vehicle.
What’s Included in the Prestige Pack?
The Prestige pack adds a range of cosmetic enhancements to the Glanza. On the exterior, you’ll find door visors, side mouldings with chrome and black accents, and chrome/silver garnish on the ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors), tail-lights, fenders, the lower part of the front grille, and the rear bumper.
Inside the cabin, the Prestige edition includes illuminated door sills, adding a premium feel every time you enter or exit the car.
Engine and Transmission Options
The Toyota Glanza is powered by a 90hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine. Buyers have the choice of a 5-speed manual gearbox, available for variants priced between Rs 6.9 lakh and Rs 9.82 lakh. Alternatively, there’s a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option, with prices ranging from Rs 8.34 lakh to Rs 10.0 lakh.
It’s important to note that the new Prestige Pack is exclusively available on the petrol-manual variants of the Glanza. For those looking for more fuel-efficient options, the Glanza is also offered in a CNG version, priced from Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 9.72 lakh.
