Choreographer-director Farah Khan recently revealed that she earned more than Shah Rukh Khan for their 1994 film, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, back when he wasn’t yet a superstar.
The Start of a Special Bond
Bollywood often sees unique partnerships form, and the collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan is a prime example. Their chemistry has led to numerous successful projects over the years.
Farah recently opened up about their relationship, which began in the early days of Shah Rukh’s career. She emphasized that their bond was never just professional, but much deeper and more informal.
Behind the Scenes of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa
During a masterclass, Farah shared fascinating insights from her time as a choreographer for Kundan Shah’s 1994 film, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. She recalled that Shah Rukh was not yet a big star, fostering a relaxed atmosphere on set.
Farah, Shah Rukh, and Gauri Khan often partied together, sharing similar humor and habits due to their comparable ages. She felt incredibly comfortable with him and was never in awe, yet always recognized his unique potential.
Shah Rukh Khan was incredibly supportive during the filming. He constantly helped Farah, especially since the production was on a tight budget and couldn’t afford many assistants. He pitched in wherever needed to keep the movie running smoothly.
Amusingly, Farah revealed she was the highest-paid individual on the set, even more than Shah Rukh. He reportedly received Rs 25,000 for the film, while Farah, who choreographed six songs at Rs 5,000 each, earned a total of Rs 30,000.
A Decade of Director-Actor Magic
