Maruti Suzuki has updated its popular Ertiga MPV for 2025, now making six airbags standard across all variants, alongside new interior features and a slight price increase.
Enhanced Safety for the Family MPV
The 2025 Maruti Ertiga has received a significant safety upgrade, with all variants now featuring six airbags as standard. This move aligns the Ertiga with other Maruti Suzuki models like the Wagon R, Brezza, and Baleno, which have also adopted this enhanced safety measure.
This update is part of Maruti Suzuki chairman R.C. Bhargava’s commitment to standardize six airbags across all the company’s passenger vehicles by the end of this year, reinforcing a focus on occupant safety.
As India’s bestselling MPV in the last financial year, the Ertiga continues to be a top choice for families. The new safety features come with a slight price adjustment, with the 2025 model now ranging from Rs 9.11 lakh to Rs 13.40 lakh (ex-showroom).
Comfort and Convenience Get an Upgrade
Beyond the safety enhancements, the 2025 Ertiga introduces several welcome changes to its interior, focusing on passenger comfort. Notably, the second row now features new AC vents positioned behind the front passenger armrest, replacing the older roof-mounted blower unit.
Passengers in the second row will also appreciate the addition of two new USB Type C fast-charging ports, making it easier to keep devices powered up on the go. Furthermore, the middle seat in the second row now comes with a headrest, improving comfort for all occupants.
The third row also benefits from these updates, gaining two dedicated AC vents and twin Type C charging ports, ensuring comfort and connectivity for passengers in the very back. On the exterior, a subtle new roof spoiler is the only visible change.
Consistent Performance Under the Hood
While the safety and comfort features have seen significant improvements, the powertrain options for the 2025 Maruti Ertiga remain unchanged. It continues to be powered by the reliable 1.5-litre petrol engine, producing 103hp.
For those opting for the eco-friendly choice, the 89hp CNG variant is still available. Mileage figures also remain consistent, with the petrol manual offering 20.51 kmpl, the petrol automatic at 20.30 kmpl, and the CNG model delivering an impressive 26.11 km/kg.
- All Maruti Ertiga variants now come standard with six airbags.
- New AC vents and USB Type C charging ports are added to the second and third rows.
- A minor price increase of Rs 14,500 applies across all variants.
- Engine options and fuel efficiency figures remain unchanged.
The updated Ertiga continues to solidify its position as a feature-rich and now even safer option in the MPV segment.
