Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch the powerful AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe in India on August 12, adding a sportier option to its CLE lineup.

Get Ready for the AMG CLE 53

Mark your calendars! Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed that the high-performance AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe will make its India debut on August 12. This new model will join the existing CLE 300 Cabriolet, offering a more aggressive, coupe-styled variant.

When it arrives, the AMG CLE 53 Coupe is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom). It will go head-to-head with BMW’s compact performance powerhouse, the M2.

Design That Commands Attention

A Menacing Stance

The AMG CLE 53 Coupe boasts a much more aggressive and visually striking design compared to its Cabriolet sibling. Upfront, you’ll immediately notice the signature Panamericana grille with its bold vertical slats, flanked by sleek LED headlights.

The front bumper is sculpted for a truly sporty look, featuring a larger air dam. Along the sides, the flared fenders are a key design highlight, giving the coupe a wider, more muscular stance. You’ll also spot subtle air exits positioned behind the front wheel arches.

Striking Rear Profile

The rear of the AMG CLE 53 Coupe is equally impressive, largely due to the added width from those distinctive flared fenders. It features a unified, yet not connected, tail-lamp cluster that spans the width of the car.

Completing the sporty aesthetic are a quad-exhaust setup, a gloss black diffuser, and additional air exits on either side. The coupe is expected to come with 19-inch alloy wheels as standard, with larger 20-inch options available.

Step Inside: Performance Meets Luxury

While the overall cabin layout of the AMG CLE 53 Coupe mirrors that of the CLE Cabriolet, it gets a significant dose of AMG-specific enhancements. The familiar 11.9-inch portrait-oriented infotainment screen and 12.3-inch digital driver’s display are present, along with the trio of central AC vents.

However, the AMG CLE 53 truly stands out with its AMG-spec three-spoke steering wheel, adorned in Alcantara and leather with contrasting red stitching. This sporty wheel also incorporates two extra touch controls for enhanced usability.

Throughout the interior, you’ll find premium materials like Alcantara and carbon fibre, complemented by bold red stitching. The dashboard and seats feature a sophisticated all-black color scheme, a departure from the tan upholstery seen in the CLE Cabriolet.

As for features, the coupe is loaded with comforts such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dynamic 64-color ambient lighting, a premium Burmester surround sound system, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, a wireless charger, and a heads-up display.

Unleashing the Power

Under the hood, the AMG CLE 53 Coupe packs a serious punch. It’s powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine, cleverly integrated with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This potent combination delivers a robust 449hp and a healthy 560Nm of torque, with an additional 40Nm available in Overboost mode.

All that power is channeled to all four wheels through Mercedes-AMG’s advanced 4Matic+ system, paired with a smooth and responsive 9-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

When it comes to performance, the AMG CLE 53 Coupe doesn’t disappoint. It can sprint from 0 to 100kph in a claimed 4.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250kph, but for those seeking more exhilaration, an optional AMG Performance Package can push that limit to 270kph.
