Chithra recently made a special appearance as the inaugural guest on television presenter Ranjini Haridas’s new YouTube talk show, ‘The Green Room’. The episode offered a delightful journey down memory lane for both personalities.
Their close bond dates back to 2009, when Chithra served as a judge on the popular music reality competition ‘Star Singer’ and Ranjini hosted the show. Their shared experiences forged a deep friendship that has lasted years.
The Wardrobe Rescue Incident
During their candid chat, Chithra recounted a memorable incident where she swiftly intervened to prevent a wardrobe mishap for Ranjini. This happened during a doctors’ conference held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where Ranjini was modeling on a ramp.
Chithra noticed Ranjini walking on a high ramp in a short skirt, with photographers positioned below. Concerned, Chithra felt an immediate need to act. She had been given a decorative piece of fabric as part of the welcome ceremony.
Without hesitation, Chithra quickly handed the cloth to Ranjini, instructing her to use it as a drape. Chithra explained, “I just couldn’t bear it,” highlighting her protective instinct towards her friend.
Chithra’s Protective Nature
Ranjini, in turn, shared amusing anecdotes about Chithra’s consistently protective nature. She playfully revealed that Chithra would even send her texts during rehearsals, keeping an eye on her.
“Chitra chechi used to scold me for my short dresses,” Ranjini said with a smile. She recounted how Chithra would text her simply, “Legs down!” if she sat cross-legged during rehearsals.
Ranjini humorously added that Chithra is even more eager to see her get married than her own mother. The premiere of ‘The Green Room’ coincided with Chithra’s 62nd birthday, adding an extra layer of warmth to their reunion.
