BMW Motorrad India has achieved a significant milestone, selling over 1,000 units of its high-performance S 1000 RR superbike in the country.
A Roaring Success: 1,000 Units Sold
The BMW S 1000 RR has officially crossed the 1,000-unit sales mark in India. This impressive feat highlights the growing demand for premium, high-performance motorcycles in the Indian market.
The 1,000th unit of this iconic litre-class superbike was recently handed over to a thrilled customer in Delhi, cementing its status as a top choice among enthusiasts.
Why the S 1000 RR Dominates
The S 1000 RR has consistently been a favorite among superbike buyers. Its blend of power and ease of handling makes it accessible despite its formidable performance capabilities.
Riders are also drawn to its distinctive inline-four engine soundtrack and the prestige associated with the BMW badge. When considering the price point for a 1000cc machine, the S 1000 RR offers excellent value, contributing to its strong sales success.
Power, Performance, and Pricing
For 2025, BMW Motorrad launched the updated S 1000 RR at the Auto Expo. It’s available in three distinct variants to cater to different preferences:
- Standard: Rs 21.30 lakh
- Pro: Rs 23.80 lakh
- Pro M Sport: Rs 26.05 lakh
The S 1000 RR holds the distinction of being the most affordable full-blown European inline-four superbike currently on sale in India. It significantly undercuts competitors like the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Aprilia RSV4 Factory, making it an attractive proposition for performance seekers.
Underneath its sleek fairings, the S 1000 RR retains its potent 999cc inline four-cylinder engine. This powerhouse delivers a thrilling 210hp at 13,750rpm and 113Nm of torque at 11,000rpm.
The superbike boasts a top speed of 303kph and tips the scales at a lean 197kg, offering an exhilarating experience on both road and track.
BMW Motorrad’s Vision in India
BMW Motorrad continues to strategically expand its footprint in India’s burgeoning premium motorcycle segment. There’s a noticeable surge in demand for high-performance bikes, especially among urban consumers with increasing disposable incomes.
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, praised the S 1000 RR as “a symbol of precision engineering and absolute performance.” He added that this sales milestone underscores the motorcycle’s widespread appeal among Indian riders who seek both high-performance and a premium riding experience.
