Bigg Boss 19 is gearing up for its premiere on August 29th/30th, promising its longest season yet with Salman Khan joined by other hosts and a new digital-first approach.
Bigg Boss 19 Goes Digital-First
The highly anticipated new season of Bigg Boss is set to kick off on the last weekend of August, specifically August 29th and 30th. This season is reported to be the longest ever, running for a full five months, keeping fans hooked for an extended period.
A major change this year is the show’s “digital-first” strategy. While it will air simultaneously on both television and OTT platforms, fresh episodes will drop first on Jio Hotstar. Viewers on Colors TV will then get to watch the same episode about an hour and a half later.
A Trio of New Hosts to Join Salman Khan
Superstar Salman Khan will, as usual, kick off Bigg Boss 19. However, for the first time, he won’t be the sole host for the entire season. Reports indicate Salman’s contract covers the initial three months of the show.
Following Salman’s stint, the makers are planning to bring in other popular celebrities to step in as hosts. Names like Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor are reportedly in consideration to take over the hosting duties.
While the core team is still deciding if there will be one main host or multiple celebrities hosting in shorter segments after Salman, one thing is certain: Salman Khan will return to host the grand finale of this extended season.
Who Might Be Entering the Bigg Boss House?
Speculation is rife regarding the contestants for Bigg Boss 19, with more than 20 celebrities and influencers reportedly approached. The season is expected to feature around 15 initial contestants, with an additional three to five wild card entries later on.
Recent names added to the tentative contestant list include actresses Lataa Saberwal and Ashish Vidyarthi. Other celebrities rumored to have been approached include Ram Kapoor, Gautami Kapoor, Munmun Dutta, Anita Hassanandani, Khushi Dubey, and Mr Faisu.
The list also features Dheeraj Dhoopar, Alisha Panwar, Gaurav Taneja, Apoorva Mukhija, Chinki Minki, Purav Jha, Krishna Shroff, Kanika Mann, Raj Kundra, Daisy Shah, Arshifa Khan, Tanushree Dutta, Sharad Malhotra, Mamta Kulkarni, Paras Kalnawat, and Mickey Makover.
