Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) has officially taken over the operations for luxury car brand Bentley in India, establishing a new entity called Bentley India.
A New Chapter for Luxury Cars in India
SAVWIPL, already a major player in the Indian automotive landscape, is significantly expanding its impressive portfolio. Bentley now becomes the sixth prestigious brand to operate under its comprehensive management in India.
This strategic move means SAVWIPL will now oversee the complete lifecycle for Bentley vehicles. They will handle everything from importing these ultra-luxury cars to their distribution and ongoing servicing across the entire country.
Previously, Bentley cars were imported into India by Exclusive Motors. This new arrangement centralizes operations under the Volkswagen Group umbrella in India, streamlining the entire process for the iconic British marque.
Leading the Way: Bentley India and New Dealerships
To manage this significant undertaking, a brand-new entity named “Bentley India” has been established. This specialized division will be solely responsible for all sales and aftersales activities for Bentley vehicles within the Indian market.
Abby Thomas has been appointed to lead Bentley India. His leadership is expected to drive the brand’s growth and enhance its presence in India’s highly competitive and growing luxury segment.
As part of this expansion, Bentley India plans to onboard three new dealer partners. These dealerships will be strategically located in key metropolitan areas, starting with Bangalore and Mumbai, with New Delhi set to follow soon. This will ensure broader access and better service for Bentley clientele.
Driving Uncompromising Luxury
Piyush Arora, the Managing Director and CEO of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, expressed his enthusiasm about this new partnership. He highlighted that adding Bentley completes SAVWIPL’s portfolio, blending German precision with the timeless elegance and performance of British craftsmanship.
Arora also noted India’s rapidly growing appetite for uncompromising luxury vehicles. He believes Abby Thomas’s deep understanding of the Indian market makes him the ideal leader to guide Bentley India towards new milestones.
Jan Bures, Executive Director for Sales, Marketing, and Digital at Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, echoed these sentiments. He emphasized that the burgeoning Ultra High Net Worth Individual (UHNI) segment in India will greatly benefit from this new association, promising the best in luxury and performance for discerning customers.
