Veteran actor Ashok Saraf recently shared a chilling incident from the sets of the 1992 film Jaagruti, where a scene with Salman Khan left him with a real knife cut on his throat.
A Dangerous Filming Incident
Ashok Saraf, celebrated for his comedic roles, took on a villainous part in the 1992 film Jaagruti, starring Salman Khan. This role, however, came with an unexpected and frightening experience.
During a recent interview, Saraf revealed that he suffered a deep cut on his throat. This happened while filming a scene where Salman Khan was supposed to hold a knife to his neck.
The Real Knife Scare
Saraf recounted the harrowing moment to Radia Nasha Official. He explained that a real knife was used in the scene, not a prop.
As they began the dialogues, Saraf was meant to struggle against Salman’s grip. Salman, however, was pressing the knife with considerable force.
“He was putting a lot of pressure with the knife, I asked him to dial it down,” Saraf recalled. He immediately felt the knife’s sharp point cutting into his skin.
A Deep Cut and Lingering Memory
Saraf advised Salman to hold the knife differently, perhaps reversed, to avoid injury. However, Salman pointed out that the camera angle would reveal the prop trick.
Despite the discomfort, they completed the shot. It was only afterward that Saraf realized the extent of the injury.
He saw a deep gash on his throat. Saraf emphasized the severity, noting that if a major nerve had been cut, the consequences could have been fatal on set.
“My nerve would have cut, I will never forget it,” Saraf stated, adding he isn’t sure if Salman Khan remembers the incident.
