Oliver Rowland has officially clinched the 2025 Formula E World Championship in Berlin, while Jaguar secured a double victory and Mahindra Racing celebrated another podium finish.

Oliver Rowland Claims Formula E Title

Nissan’s Oliver Rowland has been crowned the 2025 Formula E champion, wrapping up the title with two rounds still to go. The Berlin E-Prix weekend saw a dramatic turn of events that led to his triumph.

Rowland faced a challenge on Saturday, retiring from the race and receiving a grid penalty for Sunday. His closest rival, Pascal Wehrlein, finished second, prolonging the championship battle.

However, Sunday’s race delivered a reversal of fortunes. Wehrlein struggled to score points, while Rowland expertly navigated the race to finish P4. This strong performance was more than enough to secure his maiden championship.

Reflecting on his win, Rowland expressed immense gratitude. “After a tough day yesterday, I focused on doing my best, and it paid off,” he shared. He credited Nissan for creating an environment where he could thrive, calling the victory a “perfect fairytale” for the team’s tireless efforts.

While the drivers’ title is decided, the fight for the teams’ championship continues. Porsche currently leads the standings, holding a 23-point advantage over Nissan.

Jaguar TCS Racing Dominates Berlin

Jaguar TCS Racing had a stellar weekend in Berlin, achieving a clean sweep with both of their drivers claiming victories. Mitch Evans delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, controlling the race from start to finish to secure his first win of the season.

Sunday saw teammate Nick Cassidy pull off an incredible feat. Starting from 20th on the grid, Cassidy battled his way through the field to clinch a spectacular win. His impressive climb further cemented his position as one of the season’s top performers, having scored more points than any other driver in the last eight races.

Mahindra Racing Continues Strong Form

Indian-backed Mahindra Racing showcased its growing momentum, securing back-to-back podium finishes. Edoardo Mortara followed up his recent podium in Jakarta with a P3 finish in Saturday’s Berlin race, marking another strong result for the team.

Sunday’s race proved more challenging for Mortara, as a safety car intervention hampered his strategy, leading him to finish P11. However, the team also celebrated a significant achievement with rookie Felipe Drugovich.

Drugovich, stepping in for Nyck de Vries, made a notable Formula E debut. After a challenging first race, he bounced back impressively on Sunday, climbing from P19 to P7 to score his first-ever points in the series.

Mahindra Racing’s improved performance has propelled them to sixth in the teams’ championship, just one point shy of McLaren. Frederic Bertrand, Mahindra Racing’s CEO and team principal, expressed optimism. “Another promising weekend, another podium, and points on debut for Felipe,” he stated. “We will go to London with a chance of finishing in the top five in the World Championship, which has been the goal all season.”

  • Oliver Rowland secured the 2025 Formula E World Championship for Nissan with two races remaining.
  • Jaguar TCS Racing celebrated a dominant double victory in Berlin, with wins from Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy.
  • Mahindra Racing continued its strong run, earning another podium finish thanks to Edoardo Mortara.
  • Felipe Drugovich, in his Formula E debut for Mahindra, scored his first championship points.

The Formula E season will now culminate in London with the final two races scheduled for July 26 and 27, where the teams’ championship battle will be decided.
