Scarlett Johansson’s “Jurassic World Rebirth” is making massive waves at the box office, not only revitalizing the iconic dinosaur franchise but also outperforming several major films in India and globally.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” Roars Loudly at Box Office

The latest installment in the Jurassic Park saga, “Jurassic World Rebirth,” has enjoyed a strong run since its release. On its fourth day in theaters, a crucial Monday, the sci-fi actioner pulled in an impressive Rs 4.1 crore nett in India, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk.

This brings its total domestic collection to a solid Rs 43.1 crore in just four days. Globally, the film is nearing the Rs 2,800 crore mark, with its worldwide gross standing at a remarkable $322 million (approximately Rs 2,765 crore).

Dominating the Indian Market

The film’s performance on Monday was particularly noteworthy as it managed to outperform several recent Indian releases, including the big-budget Telugu devotional film “Kannappa.” Despite “Kannappa” featuring star cameos from Akshay Kumar and Prabhas, it earned only Rs 2.3 crore on its first Monday, significantly less than “Jurassic World Rebirth’s” collection on the same day.

Even Brad Pitt’s “F1,” which garnered better reviews, fell behind, collecting just Rs 3.35 crore on its first Monday. “Jurassic World Rebirth” also surpassed other notable films like “Maa” (Rs 2.5 crore) and “Metro… In Dino” (Rs 2.25 crore), proving its strong hold with Indian audiences.

Audience Turnout and Critical Reception

On Monday, the English version of “Jurassic World Rebirth” recorded an overall occupancy rate of 13.87 percent in India. While morning shows started at 7.02 percent, audience numbers steadily grew throughout the day, peaking at 18.37 percent for night screenings.

The film, directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, has received a more favorable response compared to its recent predecessors. This positive reception is seen as a much-needed rejuvenation for the beloved franchise after a string of mediocre outings.

Continuing a Legacy

“Jurassic World Rebirth” marks the seventh installment in the iconic franchise, serving as a standalone sequel to 2022’s “Jurassic World Dominion.” The series began with the groundbreaking “Jurassic Park” (1993) and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (1997), both helmed by legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

The entire universe was originally created by renowned author and screenwriter Michael Crichton. This latest entry aims to carry forward the thrilling legacy that has captivated audiences for decades.

  • “Jurassic World Rebirth” earned Rs 4.1 crore nett in India on its first Monday.
  • Its total collection in India reached Rs 43.1 crore in just four days.
  • The film’s worldwide gross is approximately Rs 2,765 crore ($322 million).
