Anurag Basu’s latest film, “Metro In Dino,” starring Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur, is rapidly approaching the Rs 10 crore mark at the box office after a significant jump in its second-day collections.

Building Box Office Momentum

“Metro In Dino” faced a somewhat slow start at the box office, gathering Rs 3.35 crore on its opening day. However, strong positive buzz among audiences seems to have fueled a remarkable turnaround.

On its second day, the film nearly doubled its collection, bringing in approximately Rs 6 crore. This impressive growth of about 71.43% has pushed the movie’s total earnings to an estimated Rs 9.5 crore within just two days.

Audience Engagement Grows

The film saw increasing footfall throughout its second day in theaters. Starting with an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.65% during morning shows, audience turnout steadily climbed.

Afternoon shows recorded 30.95% occupancy, while evening shows saw a further rise to 38.95%. The night shows peaked with a healthy 47.26% occupancy, indicating growing public interest.

Critical Reception and Word of Mouth

Despite receiving mixed reviews initially, the film’s significant growth suggests that positive word-of-mouth from viewers is playing a crucial role in its box office performance. Critics have also weighed in on the film.

Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave “Metro In Dino” three stars. She highlighted Sara Ali Khan’s performance and praised how the film captures the “unruly and ungainly” aspects of life when it is at its best.

About the Film

Directed by Anurag Basu, “Metro In Dino” is considered a spiritual successor to his 2007 hit, “Life In A Metro.” The ensemble cast includes a host of talented actors alongside Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan.

Notable names like Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh also feature prominently in the movie, adding depth to its narrative.
