Norton Motorcycles, now under the wing of TVS Motor, is gearing up for a major revival, kicking things off with a new 1200cc superbike set to debut globally and in India.
Norton’s Flagship Roars Back
Get ready for a powerful comeback! Norton’s new 1200cc superbike is confirmed for a global launch at EICMA 2025, happening in November. Hot on its heels, the bike will also make its official entry into the Indian market.
This flagship model is the first of three entirely new Norton bikes planned. Each core model will also offer multiple variants, signaling a bold strategy to re-establish the iconic 126-year-old British brand in key markets like the UK, Europe, and India.
A New Chapter for Pricing
TVS Motor revealed that the upcoming 1200cc superbike will be competitively priced. This indicates a shift in Norton’s strategy, moving towards greater accessibility compared to its past as an ultra-premium, luxury brand.
The bike has already been teased and even spotted during testing. Interestingly, TVS MD Sudarshan Venu was seen riding it, suggesting the final stages of validation are well underway. The teaser also hinted at a new four-cylinder engine, possibly a V-configuration, positioning it as Norton’s new top-tier offering.
India Entry Confirmed, Local Production Planned
Exciting news for Indian enthusiasts: the 1200cc superbike is indeed coming to India. TVS is currently finalizing its retail and marketing plans specifically for the domestic market, with more details expected closer to the launch.
While Norton’s Solihull facility in the UK will remain the brand’s global engineering hub, some future models will see production at TVS’s plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. This move aligns with TVS’s broader goals for localization, making the bikes potentially more appealing to Indian buyers.
Expanding the Lineup
Norton’s future global product line will revolve around three core models, which will then branch out into a total of six variants. Two of these platforms are being developed from scratch, while the existing V4 platform is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul.
These new models will be unveiled progressively across late 2025 and early 2026, with a European rollout slated for early 2027. It’s still unclear what the future holds for the current Norton 961 retro models, as no official details have been shared yet.
TVS’s Vision for Norton
TVS Motor emphasized that its investment in Norton has been measured so far, but the focus is now shifting to an aggressive marketing push. The goal is to rebuild global brand awareness and solidify Norton’s presence in the market.
The company also reaffirmed its long-term commitment to delivering high quality, advanced technology, and innovative features across all its segments, including both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) offerings, with Norton being a key part of this vision.
