Rising star Ahaan Panday recently shared candid details about his unconventional childhood, revealing he lived in a “corridor” until age 14 and felt like the “least pampered” member of his famous joint family.

From Corridor to Mansion: A Unique Upbringing

While Ahaan Panday now calls a lavish four-floor Mumbai mansion home, complete with a game room and staff quarters, his early years were quite different. The actor revealed in a YouTube video with his sister Alanna Panday that he literally lived in a corridor for seven years.

“I lived in a corridor for 7 years of my life,” Ahaan shared, specifying that it was a room “built in a corridor.” He described the setup, saying, “One side was the exit, and the other side were my dad and Dadi’s bedrooms. I was in the passageway. Everyone would see me in my towel everyday.”

When asked who was the most pampered in his family, Ahaan quickly stated he was the “least pampered” member, highlighting the humble beginnings of his living space despite his family’s prominence.

Life in a Loving Joint Family

Alanna explained that their unique living situation stemmed from growing up in a large joint family. Their home included parents Chikki and Deanna Panday, along with uncle Chunky Panday, aunt Bhavana Panday, and cousins Ananya and Rysa Panday, plus their paternal grandparents.

“We lived in a joint family. There’s limited space,” Alanna recalled, posing a question to Ahaan: “Would you rather live in a joint family full of love than have your own space and live separately?” Ahaan readily agreed, cherishing those memories. “It was great. I won’t have it any other way,” he affirmed.

Sibling Antics: A First Cigarette Experience

In the same revealing conversation, Ahaan also recounted a memorable incident involving his sister, Alanna. He disclosed that she was the one who first introduced him to smoking when he was just 15 or 16 years old.

“When I was 16, Alanna called me into her bathroom and she made me try my first cigarette,” Ahaan admitted, much to Alanna’s visible embarrassment. She tried to interject, “You can’t say this sh*t man. He’s lying. I am telling you.”

Ahaan, however, continued to playfully detail the type of cigarette, prompting Alanna to try and stop him further. “He’s making me sound like such a bad sister,” she quipped, adding, “I was just excited that I had discovered something and I wanted to share it with him.” Ahaan’s witty response? “I was 15. I had underdeveloped lungs and you are giving me cigarettes, all out of love.”

Blockbuster Debut: Saiyaara’s Success

Ahaan Panday’s debut film, *Saiyaara*, directed by Mohit Suri, has already made a significant impact at the box office. The movie raked in over Rs 105 crore in its first four days, a rare feat for a newcomer’s film.

This impressive performance puts *Saiyaara* in an exclusive club for the year, alongside Vicky Kaushal’s *Chhaava*, which earned Rs 140 crore in its opening weekend and went on to gross over Rs 600 crore. *Saiyaara*’s early success is particularly notable, outperforming films featuring seasoned superstars in recent times.
