Step inside Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s luxurious three-storey mansion, ‘Nawab,’ a dream home he designed to recreate the essence of his childhood village abode.

From Humble Beginnings to a Dream Mansion

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s journey from sharing a cramped room in Mumbai to owning a sprawling bungalow is truly inspiring. Five years ago, the acclaimed actor built his dream home, a plush mansion located at Yari Road, Versova.

He named it ‘Nawab’ in honor of his late father, Nawabuddin Siddiqui. What makes this home unique is that Nawazuddin personally designed it to mirror his childhood house in Budhana, Uttar Pradesh, connecting his present success with his humble roots.

A Vintage Aesthetic

During a recent house tour, Nawazuddin showcased his meticulously designed interiors. The living area features muted tones like beige, white, and brown, creating a distinct vintage and colonial atmosphere. He shared that he specifically chooses paintings that align with this color palette.

A striking bright red pool table stands out as the only vibrant element in the space. Nawazuddin humorously noted that his guests use it more often than he does.

A Tribute to Theatre Roots

The walls of his hall are adorned not with film posters, but with images from famous plays. You can spot scenes and characters from Shakespearean classics like Hamlet, Romeo, Othello, Macbeth, and Merchant of Venice, all roles Nawazuddin performed during his time at the National School of Drama (NSD).

He explained that these posters serve as a constant reminder of his theatre days, keeping him grounded and fostering a mindset of continuous learning.

Exploring ‘Nawab’s’ Three Floors

The mansion spans three impressive floors. The first floor houses the main hall and a personal theatre, while the second floor is home to his makeup room. Additional rooms are located on the third floor.

The private theatre room boasts comfortable brown sofas and a large screen for film viewing. It opens onto a beautiful balcony filled with lush greenery and colorful flowers. Nawazuddin revealed that this balcony was specifically inspired by the iconic balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet.

Personal Spaces and Proud Moments

Nawazuddin also has a dedicated makeup room, featuring elegant wooden detailing and bright lights around a large mirror, resembling a professional green room. Though he admits he’s “not much of a gym person,” he has a compact home gym.

A heartwarming detail is a distinction certificate from his daughter’s London acting workshop proudly displayed on a wall. He endearingly remarked that she’s “crazy for acting.”

The entire house, with its flooring, pillars, arches, and railings, exudes an old-school charm, directly reflecting his childhood home’s architecture. The staircase leads to a ‘wall of fame,’ showcasing his numerous awards and trophies, though he humbly stated he values the recognition but doesn’t “believe in awards.”
